Do Children Truly Learn What They Live?

January 18, 2001
Recently, I told the story of how Tim surprised Erin when he came through the door one evening with a box that was making a "Quack, quack" noise.

Erin was thrilled to find the two white ducks inside!
Today, we received a delivery and Erin found the empty box to be Big Fun! She found a white feather under the Doves bird cage downstairs and crawled back into her box.
"I'm a cute little duck", she announced.
Shortly-there-after, I found her fast asleep in the box -- with the feather still in hand.

Do
children truly learn what they live?
Gosh, Now if I could only get her to give up her pacifier...
because ducks don't use them to sleep?
