Tractor Arrives

February 9, 2005

Tim purchased a shiny John Deere tractor to develop the property. When Tim came home from Sumner Tractor and Equipment on Monday, Dick White from the dealership had loaded him up with John Deere toys and hats for everyone -- even a PINK one for me!

The guy who delivered the tractor today was met by Preston, sportin' his new bright green John Deere ball cap, work gloves and red rubber boots (looking like the farmhand that he is).  Once the tractor was unloaded from the trailer, Preston moved his John Deere peddle tractor next to it.  (A gift from Santa when Preston was 4.) He carefully "parked" it in the same position as the big tractor -- even with the front bucket down.

I thought the delivery guy was gonna' melt.  "Now, THAT'S too cute!"

Tim sold his last John Deere a few years ago to pay for a bathroom remodel, so "his wife" could have her Jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub.  (TRUE love).  He had one other tractor since, but it was worn out and in need of major repairs.

That first tractor once helped haul a stubborn calf.  It took three grown men and the trusty tractor to get it back to it's Mother who was already loaded in the trailer!

While at the dealership, Tim also found a replacement piece for Preston's *much loved* John Deere gator. As you can see from the above photo, it's like those battery operated Barbie Jeeps -- only WAY better on a farm!  It has been worth EVERY penny. Preston hauls little loads of firewood and feed in the back.  When friends come over, everyone gets a turn (that's how it got broken). Now, it can be repaired and Preston is just beside himself!

Preston is about as excited as it gets...it's SO GOOD to be 5-years-old and a FARMHAND.

"That's a GOOD lookin' tractor, huh Mama?"
