A Fresh Coat Of Paint For The Cabin

October 2003.  Work in progress on the new deck.
A fresh coat of paint makes a real difference.  I had such a sinking feeling as I applied the paint to the first side of the cabin.  We had taken great care in selecting the paint color, looking to make it look like a Ranger's Station at a park.  We didn't manage to do that, and I was disappointed.  I felt I had erased all the cabin's charm and replaced it with a clean new home..

Before the cabin has always had  a dark stain

To add to the stress of selecting a paint color was the fact that since the cabin was built, it had always had a dark stain.  This was to be the first "real paint" to be applied.  No pressure there.  Under the old rotten deck was a shed that had been built OVER the old french doors.  There was no natural light in the room until Tim and I spent two days demolishing the old shed.

The new french doors are the first natural light we've EVER had in the bedroom!  Nice view of the chicken coop from here.

A Look Around The Farm

This is the one spot I just couldn't reach!  There wasn't a level spot for the ladder.  I ended up placing the ladder in the bucket of the tractor.
My Sister-In-Law was very sweet as she exclaimed, "It looks like a new house -- and BIGGER!"
