New Rock Wall

Late summer, 2008 project: This has 100,000 pounds of material, including 50,000 pounds of concrete and masonry, 25,000 pounds of purchased granite, and roughly 25,000 lbs of boulders from the property. It was mostly completed from about Aug. 5 to early November 2008 on evenings and weekends (about 200 hours of labor), with a lot of additional work and expansion in ensuing years. For scale, the wall is 8 feet at the lowest point (the peak of the columns), and 8 1/2+ feet tall as the ground slopes down. It's about 2 feed wide at the top. The wall runs 60 feet. For scale, the fence post next to the column is a 6x6 with a 2x8 attached to the front.
